This WLED project explores the creative potential of upcycled disposable vape batteries and wearable LED arrays by combining two innovative components:
- The LED Driver: At its core is an ESP8266 microcontroller paired with a TP5400 for LiPo charging and 5V boosting. The driver also features a 3V3 LDO for stable operation and level shifters to drive WS2812C Neopixels. Designed for efficiency and compactness, the LED driver provides seamless control for connected LED arrays via the WLED app.
- The Neopixel Flexible PCB: This is a 2-layer flexible PCB featuring 30 WS2812C LEDs, designed for wearability and versatility. The FPC can be sewn into clothing, adhered to skin using eyelash glue, or mounted to custom accessories like nipple pasties, creating a wearable LED array. Controlled via the WLED app, this component offers endless opportunities for vibrant, customizable lighting in fashion, performance art, or cosplay.
Together, these components form a sustainable and creative LED solution that redefines how wearable technology can be powered and customized.
