What happens when you mix OpenAI, Arduino, and pure determination? You get Klaus – an AI assistant that talks, remembers, and even controls hardware!

What Klaus Can Do Right Now

Talks naturally (Powered by ElevenLabs TTS)

Remembers past conversations (External memory with OpenAI API)

Understands context (Responds dynamically, not just to commands)

Controls hardware  (Rotates a servo motor on request)

How This Project Came to Life

When I started, I didn’t expect to get this far so quickly. Setting up AI, speech, and robotics often takes a lot of time, but I wanted to see how fast I could prototype a functional AI assistant.

After a deep dive into APIs, speech synthesis, and microcontrollers, Klaus was up and running in about 8-10 hours!

There’s still a long road ahead, but this is an exciting proof of concept.

What’s Next for Klaus?

Give him ears (Speech recognition)

Put him in a plushie (Prototype AI companionship)

Better AI reasoning (More human-like thinking)

More hardware control (Beyond a single motor)

Klaus isn’t just a project. He’s an idea—an experiment in what’s possible with modern AI and hardware. How can Klaus be improved? What would YOU add?
