A sligthly fancy businesscard holder made using a plywood, leather and a lasercutter. It started with a case made with makercase.com. Imported in to fusion 360, modified and leather cover modeled after that model.
Since I already forgot the first prototype on the Metro a new version weill be made. I have some improvements that I will make to the new one. I was at an leather workshop yesterday. It lasted for about 1.30 hours and showed the different techniques used to make a belt. One of the tools used was a leather edge cutter:
This will make shure that my edges are smooth and nice on the next version. I also consider making the "flaps" (leather edges that cover the short side of the wooden box) Symetrical. Maybe even putting two bolts on each side so it stays put.
First prototype finnished! I Decided to make the sides a single peace so the glue would adhere more easily. I also decided to forget it on the metro. sigh..
Lasercut box assembled an leather pattern cut out on the lasercutter. The box has been sanded with a beltsander on the edges. I used "Hammer on " buttons to well, attach them to the leather.

Well, this is why I build this. My previous worbla card holder is a little bit worn out.
