With the completion of the BDS constellation in the Asia-Pacific region, full deployment of the GLONASS constellation, and the ongoing modernization of GPS, multi-constellation integration has become a key trend in RTK-based positioning technology.

A major development in global navigation systems is the move toward multi-GNSS positioning.

Together, BDS (China), GPS (USA), GLONASS (Russia), and GALILEO (EU) offer access to over 140 satellites worldwide.

Compared to single-GPS solutions, multi-GNSS significantly improves positioning performance in challenging environments such as urban canyons, enhancing accuracy, availability, and reliability.

Without increasing hardware costs, upgrading to multi-GNSS has become the mainstream path for modern smart positioning devices.

1. Product Overview

The GP-01 and GP-02 modules by Ai-Thinker are based on the latest integrated RF+Baseband SoC developed by Accurate Space-Time Microelectronics. These modules feature ultra-low power consumption and compact size and, for the first time, support triple-constellation positioning (BDS + GPS + GLONASS).

They're ideal for upgrading from traditional GPS modules or enabling BDS support. They’re suitable for trackers, OBD devices, fitness bands, campus cards, and other smart positioning terminals.
