Combining the IR array / thermal image with a Raspberry Pi camera module would be only a small step with the most recent prototypes. 

It's not really necessary for the UseCase home intrusion detection, and it would not make much sense to use the prototype in the discussed IoT context anyway, for I could actually connect the IR array to the Raspberry Pi via I2C. It is an entirely new sort of application.
