In the last few months, after publishing, there was extensive polishing to improve the project and make it easier to build. Full log
Web app
- Significant UX improvement. Rework for Material Design 3.
- Added profiles import/export to simplify sharing.
Hardware
- Migrated to EasyEDA Pro (better board management).
- Completely removed RTD sensors support. TCR works pretty well and is simpler.
- Support up to 48 volts (for future needs).
- Magnetic lock reworked. No glue required anymore (simplified assembly).
- Most of the mechanical parts (screws, nuts, etc.) are now from JLCMC. That significantly reduced expenses and allowed combined delivery.
- Reworked the heater base to reduce the connectors' heating.
- Reduced heater & whole-case height (more compact & a nice look).
- Improved SMT stencil positioning method. Use calibrated pins instead of wire (reduced stencil drift from 0.05 mm to almost zero)
- Improved algorithm of PD profile selection.
- Reduced TCR measurement noise.
- A lot of other firmware refactoring/bugfixes
Pending for check
The items below already exist, but are waiting for new PCBs/components to assemble and check the latest version.
- New buck converter for 3.3V power, cheaper and easier to solder.
- Connector for built-in milliohm meter, for MCH matching.
- Use more robust thermal paste from 3D printers.
