This project was created on 12/02/2025 and last updated 10 hours ago.

Description

Pets make our lives better, but many everyday pet products quietly harm the environment. Plastic toys, synthetic fabrics, and disposable grooming items all contribute to waste. EcoFurball explores how we can care for our pets while reducing that impact.

This project examines sustainable materials, greener manufacturing, and products that genuinely support a low-waste lifestyle. The goal isn’t to promote brands, but to understand what makes something truly eco-friendly — beyond marketing buzzwords and greenwashing.

Through research, articles, and practical examples, EcoFurball shares ways to improve pet ownership habits without sacrificing quality or comfort. From natural rubber toys to eco-conscious feeding and grooming alternatives, there are simple choices that make a difference.

  • Sustainability Comparison: Hemp Dog Toys vs Cotton Alternatives

    Ben Johnson • 10 hours ago • 0 comments

I've just released a new detailed guide comparing hemp dog toys with traditional cotton options, focusing on sustainability, durability, and the environmental footprint of each material. This resource breaks down how plant-based fibers, production methods, and biodegradability influence which toys are genuinely eco-friendly and safer for pets and the planet.

    Read it here:

To support indexing and ongoing sustainability research, I've also updated the EcoFurball Backlink Hub, where all related resources and external references are organized in one place:

More eco-toy comparisons and insights will follow as this project continues to evolve.

  • First Research Resource Published

    Ben Johnson • 12/02/2025 at 20:09 • 0 comments

I’ve just published a new resource exploring eco-friendly dog bedding options and how materials such as recycled fibers, natural fabrics, and plant-based fillings impact sustainability. It breaks down what makes certain pet beds more environmentally responsible and what to look for when buying one.

    Read it here:

More research updates will follow as the project develops.
