Cell430 is an open-source LTE modem plug-in board built around a TI MSP430F5529, designed for low-power IoT, remote monitoring, and industrial embedded systems that require reliable cellular connectivity.
The board features a plug-in LTE modem interface designed for Airgain LTE modules, giving the MSP430 direct control over modem power sequencing, reset, and communication. This allows the board to operate either as a standalone LTE node or as a cellular interface for an external host processor.
The project is currently under active development, with hardware bring-up and initial modem integration in progress. Schematics, PCB layout, and firmware are being published on GitHub as the design evolves, to deliver a practical, engineer-focused LTE building block rather than a one-off prototype.
