A wind-up mechanism fitted into a cylindrical battery form to generate electric energy by twisting/spinning and store such charge in an internal supercap storage device.
The cell will have a internal DC/DC converter and output current sense to minimize leakage and enable selection of desired output voltage to match standard cell chemistries (1.2V, 1.5V, 3V, 3.7V).
Case sizes, dimensions and storage capacities will vary to suit standard cell sizes.
Cool idea! Have you thought about maybe 3v configurations? like the size to replace 2 C or D cells? Or go bigger and do 6v for a lantern battery or 4 C or D cells. I am thinking about a bigger size just to give more room to work with in an initial prototype.
yes I would like to make the unit small enough for an AA cell and then eventually increase the supercap capacity to 'fill up' larger cell volumes.
