An NN inference accelerator for MNIST on ECP5 using open-source tools that provide accessibility, reproducibility, and no license fees.
The toolchain: Yosys → nextpnr → Project Trellis → openFPGALoader
Hardware: Radiona ULX3S, ECP5 LFE5U-85F
Results: Recognizes digits 0-9 with 94% accuracy on the hardware
