I designed this board to have a versatile byte-display to use in experiments, for example to test a vintage ASCII Keyboard. With it you can learn by doing. Discover how binary, hexadecimal and octal number systems work and how they are related. It can also be used in an education setting (as a STEM-kit).

At its core, there is an annotated binary LED-display of 8 bits (one byte). Depending on the type of data, the three most significant bits can be turned off using DIP-switches. The board can be powered through a mini USB connector, switch to a custom supply when the +12V and -12V rails are needed as well. A Digitast button provides a properly debounced signal to use with microprocessors or TTL logic.

Extension boards attach at the bottom. Like a Binary Keyboard, a Super Breadboard or a Terrific Timer (a customizable 555-timer). All available as kits, or they can be bought fully assembled. Full schematics are provided and the extension interface is open for your own ideas.
