Description

ED stands for Education. It is a STEM-kit-variant to the 8-bit Workbench platform. Can be used stand alone and has an integrated Binary Keyboard to toggle in 8 bits (one byte). Depending on the active mode, the digits display the decimal, hexadecimal or octal value of the binary value that is toggled in. An easy to build kit, no tiny parts to solder!

Great for students who want to learn by doing, it shows how number systems work. Also handy for programmers who want to do (hex) conversions. The flip-the-bits switch creates the ones' complement in an instance.

Has a built-in game. The objective is to toggle in the bit-value of the random number that is displayed by the digits. Be quick and score higher! The game can be played in each of the three modes. It keeps a high score for each mode.

Power can be supplied by USB-C or a Battery (6.5 - 12V input). The battery voltage is regulated on the board. It comes with a 9-volt battery clip with an integrated cable reel on the back.
