DOGS² v1 is working engineering hardware, and the current prototype runs the latest firmware. This is not a finished product yet, but most of the functions that define the instrument are already operational.

Working now
- Channel A: low-noise linear output up to 20 V / 1.5 A, with a current-measurement LSB of 12.5 µA below 400 mA and 50 µA above 400 mA.
- Channel B: switching output up to 48 V / 3 A continuously or 5 A for short periods, with a current-measurement LSB of 125 µA.
- Logic probe and voltmeter with measurement up to 25 V.
- Frequency counter up to 100 kHz.
- Square-wave generator from 1 Hz to 100 kHz, with 1–99% duty cycle and an output of up to 20 V / 1 A through Channel A.
- UART and RS485 terminals.
- Reception, filtering and transmission of 11-bit CAN frames.
- I2C master and passive I2C sniffer with address filtering.
- Bluetooth SPP for phone terminals and current-consumption graphs.
Still under development
- LIN sniffer and 1-Wire decoder.
- Adjustable sweep speed for the current graph.
- Output-resistance estimation for the probe.
Current work
I am tuning the DC/DC compensation networks, measuring the actual operating limits and minimum output voltages, running thermal tests, refining the firmware, preparing beta-test documentation and designing a transparent-plastic enclosure. A dedicated mobile application is also may be possible later.
