Kobee Studio is now available in the official KiCad Plugin and Content Manager

A few weeks ago I started working on Kobee Studio, originally as a fork of KiBuzzard, because I wanted an easier way to create consistent labels and graphics for my PCBs without constantly jumping between different tools.

It’s grown quite a bit since then.

Kobee Studio now handles custom PCB labels, fabrication-friendly icons, QR codes, Code 128 barcodes, connector/component overlays, custom SVG graphics, reusable profiles and more.

The biggest milestone this week: Kobee Studio has now been accepted into the official KiCad repository.

That means it can be installed directly from KiCad’s Plugin and Content Manager without adding a custom repository.

The project is open source, and a lot of the development so far has been driven by feedback and feature requests from other KiCad users.

There’s still plenty I want to add, particularly around reusable graphics, connector-aware tools and making PCB documentation/graphics less painful.
