A friend of mine I know through the Awesome Foundation shared this neat project they have been working on to support Palestine.
She is part of a Jewish collective called Jewitch and has been doing amazing work in service of her profound spiritual commitment to work for Palestinian freedom. Like many of us, I have been appalled at the ongoing genocide and have spent some time trying to "see both sides" of the conflict.
I have spoken to many Zionists, Arabs, and Jewish people alike. And one thing I learned quickly was that Judaism, a religion founded on love, acceptance, and tolerance, is not actually compatible with Zionism, any more than the teachings of Christ are compatible with Manifest Destiny. It is just old-fashioned colonialism and wars over oil and resources, which I have seen on the news since I was the smallest kid.
Well, it has been a breath of fresh air working with Suzala to try and contribute, in some small way, to bringing love and compassion into our hearts for those suffering so terribly right now. She is one of many Anti-Zionist Jews fighting for a better world.
Her lovely amulets are sold all over the bay area here. Recently, I have been able to support this effort through lasercutting and UV printing! Here are some pics of how they have been coming out:

I was generously gifted a spare lasercutter, The Creality Falcon A1, which has done wonders for this project:
Once things were dialed in with Lightburn it began cutting through 1.5mm birchwood marvelously. Having the honeycomb bottom adapter and the air pump has been essential to reduce burn marks on the outer permeter. The one major drawback of this lasercutter though is it lacks a target sight! So you cannot actually tell where it is going to cut first. Fortunately, I spent last December designing a 3D printable caddy for a laser pointer, which I will share in a future post :)
After that, I am using the EufyMake E1 to treat the wood with a UV cured ink. The resulting product is scratch-proof, fade-proof, vibrant, and detailed!

The Eufymake E1 is a remarkable tool, but it is not without significant drawbacks. I'll give a more full-down review of these in a later post.
