DockFrame is a USB Type-C hub built around the Framework Expansion Card slot standard. It gives the cards you already own a home on your desk, and adds Tool Cards that turn the slots into bench instruments.

Seven USB-C ports: five card slots that all carry data, one with DisplayPort up to 4K 60 Hz, plus the host uplink and a separate charger input. The fifth slot is galvanically isolated with its own 240 W power path, so a card can source real current without tying your computer's ground to the circuit.

Four Tool Cards so far: a multimeter with 5 kV isolation, a programmable 0 to 20 V bench supply at up to 5 A, a breadboard card with a XIAO ESP32-C5, and a Mini Hub Card that adds two USB 3.0 ports.

Every Tool Card runs from a web page over USB, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi. No drivers, nothing to install.

Everything opens up when the campaign ends: KiCad files under CERN-OHL-S, firmware and browser apps under MIT.
