Description

This completed miniature oscilloscope recreates the appearance of vintage test equipment as a small animated desk decoration. A 0.32-inch OLED displays a noisy, moving waveform intended to evoke the jitter and glow of a classic CRT oscilloscope. The waveform is simulated; the miniature does not measure external signals.

The enclosure is 3D-printed and spray-painted with an aged finish. Mock control dials and a textured exterior carry the instrument theme beyond the screen, giving the tiny object the appearance of well-used bench equipment. The existing photographs show the enclosure on its stand, alongside a coin, and resting in a hand to demonstrate its scale.

Power comes through a micro-USB connection. Plugging it in illuminates the display and brings the waveform animation to life. The finished object combines a very small modern display with the visual language of older laboratory instruments.
