This assembly makes an electromagnet controllable from a low-voltage project. The mechanical action comes from magnetic attraction, while the breakout handles stepping a 5V input up to the magnet’s 24V drive.

Set EN high to energize the magnet. VIN, EN and GND are the interface between the host circuit and the assembly, leaving the host to decide when attraction should be enabled.

The nominal holding force is 5kg under suitable conditions, with a large, flat contact surface recommended. Material, contact and geometry all affect the result.
