The goal of this project was to create a small 6809 based computer that would fit in to an Altoids Mint tin. It turned in to a fun and challenging project. I have designed and built vintage computers several times in the past but nothing as compact as this.
CPU board features:
6809 (or 63C09) CPU running at 2MHz
24k EPROM (or NVRAM) and 32k static RAM
8-bit output port and an 8-bit input port
Front panel board features:
6 seven segment displays with decimal point
9600 baud TTL serial port (bit banged)
22 push buttons plus a reset button for program input and control
Hardware interrupt timer allowing single stepping even through ROM code
Please note:
While this project and the Membership cards created by Lee Hart may have some passing similarities Lee Hart was not involved in any way with the design or programming of this project.
