This board brings a Wi-Fi controller and a physical latch into the same prototype. An ESP-12F controls the lock through GPIO5, while an onboard converter supplies the mechanism's 12V drive from a 5V USB input.
A genuine FTDI USB interface supports programming with the ESP8266 Arduino core. Holding Flash during power-up enters programming mode, making the assembly accessible for experimenting with control firmware.
The demo uses a phone connected to the board's web server to operate the latch. That is a useful starting point for a cabinet-control experiment; authentication, network exposure and failure behavior still need deliberate design before relying on it for security.
