Hi everyone! I’m a KOSEN student building a DIY EFNMR Quantum Computer.
In this log, just as the title says, I want to share our future roadmap and development schedule for the project.
Project Schedule & Roadmap
2026
- Until Nov: Tackle dead-time issues and begin hardware noise countermeasures (adding HPF, etc.).
- Nov: Project paused for school exams.
- Nov 10 – Nov 30: Preliminary judging phase for "Heroes League" (a major tech contest in Japan).
- Early to Mid-Dec: Solder the amplifier circuit to a perfboard and implement coaxial cable shielding for noise reduction.
- Late Dec: Search for optimal measurement locations (outdoors) and capture a perfectly clean FID signal.
- Dec 5: "Heroes League" Online Finals (if we pass the preliminaries!).
- Dec 19: "Heroes League" Award Ceremony (if we make it to the end!).
- Year-End / New Year: Project paused for winter break.
2027
- Early Jan: Buffer/Contingency period for hardware delays.
- Mid-Jan to Early Feb: Project paused for school exams.
- Mid-Feb: Migrate processing to FPGA and implement Noise Countermeasures Phase 2.
- Mar: Spring Break! Focus on simulating quantum spin manipulation and building a noise-canceling system.
- Apr: Conduct actual spin manipulation experiments.
- May: Accumulate and analyze data from spin manipulation.
- Mid-May to Early Jun: Project paused for school exams.
- Jun: Completion of the 1-qubit EFNMR Quantum Computer!
- Jul: Project paused for school exams.
- Mid-Aug to Early Sep: Summer Break (Compiling all results, writing documentation, and publishing the final reports).
I will update the schedule beyond this point once we reach those milestones.
Personal Note
While writing out this schedule, I realized just how much development time I lose to school exams and dorm closures during long breaks. Being a student maker has its scheduling challenges! I really need to increase my weekly work pace during the weeks when I do have time to build.
