This month's series of talks are focused on projects that move: bots, drones, and automated devices to sync up with the Hackaday Prize Round 3: Wheels, wings, and walkers. Join us to get some inspiration for your project entry.
Featured Guest Speakers
The Robodox Team
The Robodox—or the “robot doctors”— of Granada Hills Charter High School have aimed to provide our students with a longstanding foundation in the STEM program and the engineering environment. The team builds robots, which compete in both VEX Robotics Competitions and FIRST Robotics Competitions. Students are responsible for every step of construction, from designing and manufacturing to coding and CADing.
Artificial Intelligence Today by Sabri Sansoy
The interactive talk will focus on a few of the 30+ sub categories of AI, like robotics, computer vision and internet of Things (iOT), and will conclude with a live demo of an nVidia TX1 based, deep learning system that can recognize certain types of beach trash in realtime.
Sansoy is an MIT-educated, seasoned entrepreneur with a passion for Artificial Intelligence. As one of the world's leading AI experts, he most recently helped the team of IBM Watson, Marchesa & Ogilvy in making the world-publicized “Cognitive Dress” worn by supermodel Karolina Kurkova at the 2016 NY Met Gala. During the event the internet connected dress would change colors based on the sentiment of tweets evaluated by IBM Watson’s Tone Analyser. He recently launched a company, called Orchanic, which specializes in the AI subfields of Machine/Deep Learning, Robotics, Computer Vision, iOT and Chatbots.
Designing with Flexibility by Garrett Scott
We will be focusing on different multi-person projects which showcase some of the difficulties which can arise during the embedded design process. There will also be a demonstration of the tools and solutions discussed.
Garrett Scott is the Technical Marketing Engineer in the 8-bit micro-controller division at Microchip Technology. Garrett develops solutions to make using PIC/AVR simpler and easier, with a focus on low-volume customers. He designs examples for new devices, tutorials on how to get started, developing software libraries, or coming up with hardware platforms, Garrett helps to make life easier for people to get started on their Microchip based solutions.

Call For Lightning Talks
We will have reserved time for lightning talks. You'll get about two minutes to talk about a topic, Hackaday Prize project, announcements or are looking for project collaborators, get in touch with Dan Hienzsch.
Don't forget to bring along your demos and Hackaday.io projects. You made it, so it's time to show if off. Extra points if you bring your #HackadayPrize project. Get feedback, ask for advice, or get people to join your team.
If you haven't seen the Hackaday Prize video yet, here it is:
