This is a first round prototype for a group or 25 Ants. The Idea was to have kids using the Ants as push toys around a room to learn about Ant behaviors. It is an ongoing research project for a University. Basically I took a bundle circuit and designed a roller ball push toy with a handfull of components to sense the rooms activity and environment. For example the Ants feed and leave virtual pheromone trails as they are moved around. The hardware consists of a compass, LEDs, touch sensor, Ultra sonic range finder, RFID reader, vibrator, X-bee, Teensy and custom indoor positioning PCB.
