The intention of Fun With Pinball is to harness that allure and add a little discovery and learning to the fun.

The beauty of the retired electromechanical pinball machine components used in the exhibit pieces is that everything is visible, tangible and under the user's control. When examined and activated individually, the mechanisms are easily explained and understood.

Taken a bit further the mechanisms can be used to explain and demonstrate fundamental topics such as electricity, magnetism, potential and kinetic energy, Boolean logic, programming, problem solving and design of more elaborate systems.
