Good old console classics are being run on a Raspberry Pi Zero thanks to Retropie. The micro computer is built into a special edition PlayStation controller, replacing former PCB’s and thus reusing and breathing new life into an old, unused controller. The Raspberry Pi is run off a built-in battery inside the controller, which is simply charged through the added micro-USB port.

The project was motivated by personal gains of developing further coding abilities and knowledge as well as a general pursuit of reviving old electronics by means of reuse.

The PiStation is used simply by plugging in the HDMI-cable to any screen and using the existing keys to maneuver through emulated games. All exterior hardware is authentic maintaining the well-known PlayStation ergonomics.
