did this work? and what was its interface digitally? is it possible to output it to another junction box to serve as an analog xlr snake?

I'm reading your comment only now, sorry for that.

And yes, this was used to replace an analog XLR snake which had 20 meter of multipair cable with a gauge of 20mm that was laying under the desk in a home recording studio setup with separate control and live rooms.

It absolutely worked, and the cable length was reduced to just 5 meters. It's totally transparent to the analog audio it carries. Didn't try that with AES/EBU but I think it should be fine.

Unfortunately, I decided not to be involved any longer in cooperating with that studio production shortly after, and never updated these pages. I don't even have any video of the manufacturing, or anything that could help more, maybe I did have some detail pictures of pulling the single ethernet pairs into the IV tubing, and a picture of the finished box with plugged cables, but never uploaded because the picture limit was 6.

I may consider updating this in the future, since there is some interest. Meanwhile, you can try building your own if you can source all of the material! Bye for now.
