Hi everyone, I got started today on my project to make an emoji video badge! The concept is that you wear a small video badge (6cm screen size) and it displays emoji depending on your current mood. You can pair your smart-phone to it via Bluetooth, and update the emoji via an app. It could also have switches to update emoji, so it could be used in schools for children to signal to the teacher how they are getting on!
Parts:
TFT FeatherWing - 2.4" 320x240 Touchscreen For All Feathers $29.99USD
weight= 32.2g
Adafruit Feather 32u4 Bluefruit LE $29.99 USD
weight= 5.7g
3d printed pocket similar to this https://learn.adafruit.com/mystical-led-halloween-hood/3d-printed-battery-pocket which holds the battery and badge. Attached to shirt/jacket/etc. with a magnetic pin back (~$1.95USD)
Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 500mAh $7.95USD
weight=10.5g
So, the total weight is approx 50 grams! Is it light enough for a badge to pin on your shirt?
Well, here's the Feather 32u4 Bluefruit connected to the TFT (it isn't soldered yet).

The first thing to do is solder the pins connecting the 32u4 Bluefruit connected to the TFT!
