Overall this is a simple project that just takes a bit of tinkering with technic LEGOs. The code is simple enough to modify so you can change things up for different projects. We plan on using similar parts to create a moving LEGO BB-8.

The reason I prefer the "original" X-Wing is: you could put a turbine engine in there, as compared to the half-openings on the new models.
Why does this matter?
Well, you could add small motors, fans, and humidifiers to the old design, to create a "vapor trail" effect. The fan blades run out of space in the new layout.
