The content server (for the images) is still unreliable. Often it will fail to display some images on a log or details page. Refreshing the pages sometimes works, other times not. The image is still on the server as going directly to the URL works, again sometimes. Maybe some limit or throttling of image serving is reached.

I see I'm not the first one to report this, but somehow all Hackaday notifications end up in my Gmail Spam box, with a warning that the included link is unsafe. Despite me continuously confirming that it is 'No Spam', it still keeps happening.

The image galleries are starting to fail again.. why is this happening every 2 weeks. It's super annoying.

It may be time to move on to another platform.... I am loosing trust. One day, all my pictures will be gone?

Picture upload is broken again. ☹️ First attempt returned access denied. Second attempt succeeded in uploading but the editor showed a broken image icon. Looking at the HTML, a filename had been assigned to the uploaded picture.

Hmm, now it's working. 🤷

I just learned about Twitter and Open Graph meta tags to steer social media summarizing of linked pages.

For project log pages, please use the first image from the log -- or at least something that appears on the target page -- for the og:image and twitter:image meta tags instead of the lead image from the project page.

Because I sometimes link to relevant log entries from Discord and it doesn't help to fill the chat with copies of the same irrelevant image.

ETA: or is this something I can control?

Can you guys please fix the gallery? All my projects are broken by now - the pictures are not showing up. Thanks for looking into this! Even my avatar logo is broken.

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with image uploads. Whenever I try to add images to my projects they're not displaying correctly. Instead, I'm seeing black boxes or broken link icons.

I've tried a few things to fix it on my end:

- Cleared cache and cookies, tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).

- Resized images, tried different file types (.jpg, .png).

Nothing works!

Is it possible to develop a feature that puts an indication of the project status on the project badges (thumbnails), a little icon perhaps? I have shelved and scrapped projects that I would not wish people to waste time following. And completed projects deserve a completion icon.

To be honest I would prefer this over showing likes and follows, its more useful.

Gmail has taken to flat-out blocking notification messages, putting them directly in spam, and making the links unclickable with no option to unlock them, nor undo their decision. It specifically says that "It contains a ... link that WAS USED to steal personal information." This is a regular-ol notification that I got a private message via .io, that if I go into my PM's via .io, it is in fact there...

Hi, the search box seems to be broken. There is a (featured) project called "Heavy Desktop Mill", but if I search for Heavy Desktop Mill (=exact name), it does not show up in the results.

    I have a Color Organ Project on hackaday.io https://hackaday.io/project/201860-stereo-7-band-color-organ but when I search on "Color Organ" on the hackaday.io site https://hackaday.io/search?term=%22Color+Organ%22 my project does not show up.  Is there any way I can get it to show up?

    I'm trying to change text color, but every time I save it my code is removed?

    but it keeps getting removed. Frustrating!!!

The editor does not allow full HTML editing, usually anything in the top bar is available. Private message me and I might have some options I can give you.

Hello, for some reason I can't upload pics to my Hackaday project. It always states: Sorry, image size should be less than 5MB and we only accept JPG/PNG/TIF formats'. I tried JPG,PNG and TIF, images are below 5MB

There could have been a temporary issue at the time, give it another try, otherwise send me a private message and I can check on the project.

Since a few days the feature ‘most likes’ in the project list seems to be broken. No matter what I choose (most likes last week, month, year, all time), the same projects are always displayed. Is this just me? Bug?

Is exporting a full project page to .md or just rendered pdf on the roadmap anywhere? I know saving html is an option too but it requires to at least expand every contracted section before doing that (too many logs, too many instructions etc.)

Similarly - will there be a project generation from .md file to quickly set things up?

I guess so. Export it into a one page thing with nice fonts and all the images, maybe video embeds too.
Obviously not as a live backup, but as a page of history i guess in a nice format, yeah.
