I signed up with my e-mail address. Then after a while I logged in with Github (same e-mail address) and instead of logging in another account was made...
if you upload a file to your project, then delete it and upload a new file with same name as the previous, the original file is restored. Means you can't make changes to files of the same name.
A spammer sent me a message via chat (literally just "Hello"). The account has since been deleted, but still appears in my chat sidebar. Is there a way to delete this, and if not, could y'all please add one?
I believe this is included in upcoming chat improvements.
Similar issue to @Bodo Eichstädt. I accidentally created my account with the wrong github account. I swapped over to my other github account and created a new account but now I cannot delete the one associated with the first account.
Under 'Edit My Account' I go to 'Delete My Account' and select 'Authenticate with Github' and.... it takes me back to the homepage, account still fully intact. I can't try any other options since I cant set a password, etc. Any ideas?
If using Github for oauth login here... how do I change my notification email? Edit of profile is not possible because no password is set. Setting a new email here is not possible because if ask to confirm by entering the current password. Setting of a password is not possible (because of Github oauth). Updating through Github (set desired email as primary there, then de-auth, then re-auth) does not help.
Someone knows a workaround?
My guess: hackaday reads the FIRST email from Github, not the primary. Perfect would a a dropdown select in the settings with entries like:
use email entered below
use Github primary <--- and occasionally query Github for an update
use Github 1
use Github 2
use Github 3
...
plus an input to give a totally different one if you choose the first option. :-)
It looks like I can drag and drop project logs from project pages, including those of others? Nothing is saved since it goes back after refreshing but still strange.
The same spam again, maybe an idea like @davedarko mentioned here already to assign moderators in other timezones?
I've been told that something for this is in the works or at least there were talks about it.. I'm ready for it :)
I think I found a bug in how images are handled in the Instructions. When I add them they show up fine initially, but once I save the instructions and reload the page they turn into empty frames. I've confirmed this behavior on 2 computers. When I look at the HTML it appears the link to the image itself is removed when the instructions are saved, which explains why I see an empty frame. Can someone check this out? Thanks!
I'm also experiencing the "inability to re-order instructions" bug mentioned a few times below. Does anyone know a workaround?
Is there a light mode? The contrast on the dark text is too low.
I can see private projects on users' homepages

Project log links just got broken. For *every project* I've looked at. From main page of project, project log links now point back to the main page instead of the log.
Would be great if you could mark your project as "free for others to enter", as in, anybody could join it and wouldn't have to wait for you to accept their request. Barring that, a more straightforward way of accepting the invitation (that wouldn't involve opening yet another page, scrolling down and looking for the tiny button) would be great to have.
How do I control the ordering of components in the "Components" list of my project ? (https://hackaday.io/project/42944-kite-3d-printable-diy-modular-smartphones)
I edited the component list to reorder the components to how I wanted to see them. After I hit "Save changes", it goes back to the previous order.
It seems when publishing a draft for a project log the log creation date is used for the order. Sometimes I start multiple logs at the same time and publish them in a different order. I feel like the log order should be tied to the publish date instead of creation date.
Please make me a mod (if that exists here) so I can delete the spam while you're sleeping :)

We have a new project with travel background! https://hackaday.io/project/49832-kk4678
I found another comment I had missed on one of my projects, that I never got a notification for. I understand the logic behind not sending too many emails, but I REALLY want to be able to get notifications on comments. Would it be possible to break out notifications on comments from all the other notifications and allow the user to set the frequency rather than a one size fits all strategy?
