Feedback:
Since the site is basically a two column vertical scrolling site, it is often difficult to find the boundaries between two sections. For example: When I want to post a project update, the latest update is on top. However, I have to scroll down through my older updates to click "Add Project Log". I can't hit END on my keyboard either, because that would go to the bottom of the page where comments are. It would be more convenient if frequently used commands are always on top of the page (maybe there should be a non-scrolling navbar?).

Just an idea for the new feed, but if you're cutting down on the amount of "x is now following y" it might make more sense, since the list will be shorter, to do it dropdown style a la facebook instead of an entire page, meaning that I can stay where I am on the site but keep an eye on the feed

Could you log your updates on http://hackaday.io/project/46-Hackaday-Projects so everybody can see what is possible since the new update? I've seen a new sorting option "recently updated" for the project feed which is great, but wondered what else was achieved since the last update.

Hey Dave. That was the original plan, but we kinda dropped the ball on it a bit :) As of next week we'll get into a regular schedule of pushing CHANGELOG-style updates on "Hackaday Projects" project so that everyone is aware of all the things that have been updated (and give feedback). Thanks!

I sort of did a workaround by typing enough stuff so that the second youtube video didn't make the front page of my project. But I'm pretty sure it would still do it again if I added another youtube embedded video to the beginning of another log entry.

Here is feedback on the personal "Feed" link. I don't think "[Name] is now following [project you are also following]" should be in my personal feed, or at least let me turn it off.

I have stopped using the Feed entirely for some time now because it is swamped with "[Name] has started following [popular project]!" That doesn't interest me but it is the vast majority of the entries. The things that interest me are lost in that noise.

What I care about is: Project I am following has been updated, Someone has started following one of your projects, A comment has been added to one of your projects, or someone has replied to one of your comments/posts.

On parts list: it would be nice to be able to include links: to where that part could be purchased from, datasheets, reference material, etc.

Under "feed": Although I would be interested in people following me, I find a new line for every time someone follows a project that I follow to be superfluous.

A quicker way for me to hit my current in-progress project(s) would be nice. Currently, I have to click Projects first.

Hello Hari, MED, and Niftylight,
- URLs in component descriptions now show as links when you include http://.
- We have a new feed in the pipeline. Watch this space.
- There is a link to 'Your projects' in your personal menu which appears when you hover over your image top right of every page. I'll make a note regarding this as we may be able to include it on the feed page or a personal dashboard in the future.

maybe you guys should make it so I don't get the (horrid) mobile version of the site on my desktop. I'd suggest using max/min-device-width in the query instead of max/min-width

On the project home page for my project it says "This project was created on 03/11/2014 and last updated 3 months ago.", but I have updated the project log multiple times. Shouldn't the project log update the "updated" time? If you just look at the created line it looks like my project is stale.

Formatting text as code (I did that in project logs) does not round-trip. Line breaks show up as a html break tag when editing. A preview would be great in that case. the preview for "normal" text is good, though.

It would be nice to upload more pictures for the projects we post. I have quiet a few screenshots and images of hardware and software I would like to show and im sure viewers would be more inclined to see pictures rather than read a tonne of text. Currently I can only show 6 images but at least 10 should be available in my opinion

The featured image are is limited. But you can put as many images in the project details, build logs, and instructions as you wish. When you're in the editor window look for an icon on the left border. Click it and you can upload a picture and it to your post.

Might be a nice idea to have a Google map showing all the members on the projects site, so it's easier to find people to work with/talk to/ask advice, I'm not talking exact addresses, just their city maybe, or nearest town.

Some formatting was removed in project log, if you select a text block, press tab it nicely indents, though only in some edit boxes (not this one for instance, TAB goes to Post Comment box here) But then when it is posted , tabs go away. Also that problem of cut and paste double spacing.

I'd rather have the buttons for adding project logs, components, comments, etc all in one place, either at the top or the bottom basically a toolbar, or even just an additional quick edit toolbar. It's tiresome scrolling around looking for them if you have a lot of entries.

Number for parts of components should be float, not integer! We used Ikea table legs for our projects. We needed 7 peaces, each ~40cm. So we cut them in half. But I am not able to enter "3.5 Ikea table legs"! ;)

Other feature request "would be nice":
- resorting links
- adding team mates not registered at hackaday.io
- edit vimeo video embed code
