That's part of the boarding process when starting a profile here and it's all automatic - IIRC.
The editor sure makes it difficult to maintain any formatting (underlining disappearing, extra spacing between paragraphs disappears, etc). I even see that white background pictures would need to be reworked because the site grays out the white background. This is not going well. Sorry to say, it's starting to not look worthwhile for me to post my project here if the site is going to turn it into "hamburger".
For the "gray" background issue, is it because your PNG files have a transparent "white" background?
thanks, that took care of it! Hadn't expected transparent pictures were being created by the editor application.
Hi! I have problems with mobile interface for editing messages and other materials to publish on the site. The edit menu obscures the text which I try to input. How one can minimize this menu so as to see what is being written?
Hi Pavel, thanks for your feedback. The sticky toolbar is definitely a bother in mobile views, we'll fix this shortly.
When I am looking at a project for the first time, one of the things I immediately want to know is whether the project is still active. It'd be nice to see some basic pieces of info right at the top, near the name and description. For example, if the project is tagged "obsolete" or "shelved project", it'd be great to put them right at the top in addition to listing them down below in the tag list. Also, some indication of the date of the last project update (new logs, build instructions, details edit, etc but not comments) would help readers figure out how active the project is.
FYI: Please look into why reporting this user gives error: https://hackaday.io/Spikese5l
It is a viagra spam and is still on the system.
I know this is a huge amount of work and possibly also a can of worms, but it would be nice if there was a way to merge two projects into one, so that the people who followed any of them would still follow the merged project, and both URLs would redirect to the new project. Also all the logs and comments could me merged, still displayed chronologically.
The reason I'm mentioning this here is that because I had to "fork" some of my projects at some points in time for a variety of reasons (a highly experimental version, special version for a workshop, a requirement for the hackaday prize submission, completely independent projects that at some point converged, etc.) — and I would like to be able to merge them back together now, since it no longer makes sense to keep them separate.
As I understand it, this would be an operation that is impossible to reverse, perhaps even it would need to be performed by an admin on request, and possibly it would still require some manual corrections afterwards.
Massive spam incoming. Seeing some of them have the dreaded "You have reported this already" and some with error message.
May be it can be a project for the HaD prize for someone or a future contest? 'cause HaD isn't going to be solving this any time soon. My suggestion is filter all URL, do blacklist on keywords phone numbers, QQ, addresses, previously spam user id, filter based likeness on previous spam pictures. I and possibly others will upvote anyone with such a project.

These are spam from some SEO spam bot for google ranks - more links from popular sites given them higher scores. Every time I see a surge, there is exactly one SEO a few days later (except for the Chinese/Indian ones) They are not even targeted towards the readers here as whoever that provide their service goes by number not by referrals. The following is probably just to disguise their activity here.
HaD could have reduced these by using robot.txt to tell google not to include profile pages, removing those pesky url links. I have made those suggestion at least a year ago. Too many things they could have done better, but they are wasting their time doing other things and breaking more things.
Heh too, I wondered why a property development agency started following me rather than a project.
I've had a few notifications in my mailbox that read 'Webmaster has started following you' but the link breaks too, usually with a 404. Looking at the list of followers it appears they join and then rename themselves a couple times because there's only one new entry.
Rather odd behaviour for a noob, who usually dont have a developed profile on joining. Thats a bit of a giveaway in itself I suppose.
I don't know about following. The spammer definitely changed a few small things a few times after I posted.
for some reason I can't access the chat on my notebook, OSX 10.11.6 and Chrome Version 60.0.3112.113 - cell phone works though.
Is there an error or any response, I have it pulled up here with those versions.
I have perceived that the visiting counter of my project got stuck in 660 views a long ago, maybe two months ago or more.

Thanks for help and keep the excelent job!
FYI: Spambot user ID format: 1 alpha followed by 1 digit and 3 alphas
Usually have no country listed. Either no user picture or the same cartoonish pictures or the two gay guys (cropped or uncropped).
The escort one is similar format, but variable number of characters. Still how hard will it be to use a regular expression to black those type of user ID?

Seeing same error about 1 in 10 reports.
Lots of viagra, lawyer spam, escort, gambling every time I try to read the feed. Just report them as much as I can bother. Almost no point of keeping URL in profile when only spambot uses them for search engine rank.
What's up with empty github for some users?
May be the feed should tag reported SPAM for reported ones. Save a bit of time for everyone.
The project View count in all project pages is not updated for a while now.
Is it a feature?
I wanted to leave a comment on HaD.com and balked at the login. Hey guys, why no HaD button, I'm a HaD'er, log me in already. ;-p
So, I don't get email notifications for PMs/mentions/project comments anymore - the last one I got was about 18 hours back. Very disappointed, I live and breathe by these notifications =)
https://hackaday.io/projects/hacker/244420 Says my account doesn't have any projects, even though it does. Project shows up fine on https://hackaday.io/phryk

Were you able to login after updating your github email?
Removing a team member from a project shows "Are you sure you want to remove user as a member for this event?" when it's a project but not an event. I'm just curious if this is expected behavior.
When I'm editing a project log, the window title says "Edit My Profile". I think that's wrong.
When I click on "My Projects," it shows the project that I contribute to but not the one project that I started. Instead, it just shows "You don't have any projects. Let's change that."
If I click on "My Profile," it shows both my project and the project that I contribute to.
Become a member to follow this project and never miss any updates
Why does (did - I undid it) my profile show me following 9 hackers and 5 projects when I have *never* requested to follow them???
