A lightshow around my head because everyone has done one. 14 leds around the hood of a hoodie makes for an interesting visual, and I'm going to play around and add more light patterns to make it look neat.
Everyone has made one, so why not me?

Vimeo seems to be having problems, so the video is available on youtube
Last night, I spent 4 hours or so sewing the leds and the gemma onto the hoodie. I made a pocket for the battery also. After the sewing and a couple of quick tests with the multimeter, power was applied and everything worked beautifully.
You can see a quick phone video of the hoodie in action here:
Sew the gemma onto the hoodie in a location that is relatively close to where you are putting the leds.
I put it on the inside of the left half of the hoodie.
Make sure you read adafruit's guide on sewing with conductive thread, especially the part about using clear nail polish.
Sew (using non-conductive thread) a small pocket next to the gemma for the batter. Make it fit your battery, not too big, not too small.
Sew the leds, one at a time, connecting power, gnd and pin D0 from the gemma
