We had some great entries this week!
The Funnies:
- "Here's a nice pic of me and mom after a day in Geneva", said Sheila Armbruster, who just celebrated her 25th anniversary of being the first successful extra-utero baby born at CERN cloning labs. - No_Hazmats
- "What does it do? Why does it have to do something? It is a thousand kilos of gorgeous hand welded aluminum, stainless steel, and cap head bolts! - komradebob
- "...and this is the money-disposal contraption. Its working principle is very simple: just add a few parts and bank accounts will empty out with celerity. Harriet here is demonstrating the machine at work: by adding a new platinum valve, the department's budget for the rest of the year is gone." - Egar
Only one person can walk away with the prize though. This week the winner is Jack Krewson!
The Meaning of the Image:
jlbrian7 was on the case again this week, with help from muth.inc. Within hours of the contest going up, the two determined that the strange device in the image is a Radio Frequency Quadrupole, a device often used with linear accelerators. There are no shortage of accelerators at CERN, so that sounds about right! As always, the information has been passed on to CERN staff.
