I am thinking of a machined aluminum cylinder that is hollow with a stake attached and inside of the cylinder is 8 LEDs showing around the bottom and room for a small battery and an circuit board.
this is the first log and so far all I have is an idea and quick sketch in my notepad. I'll upload a scan of the sketch when I get a chance. I think the next step will be to start on the mechanical design. I need to define the physical constraints for size, shape, weight. Then start to iterate on dimensions for the final product. Once I have that then I can look at the electronics to ensure that I can get the right batterie(s) and a large enough circuit board inside. Next will be to look at how the electronics are contained and mounted. Build a first sample of the aluminum cylinder and then design the electronics and layout a circuit board. I am partial to the Parallax propeller as a uProcessor.
