One problem for vendors at big trade shows is getting people to visit all that is on display. So Globacore made a game of visiting everything at the Intel booth. Visitors register and get NFC wristbands that they scan at each Intel kiosk they visit. Before leaving, users play a video game, and features are unlocked based on which booths they visited.
I built 30+ NFC scanners for this experience. Since a maker aesthetic was desired, I laser cut the cases from acrylic and wired up the circuitry so all was visible. Intel Galileos and Edisons were used for the computing. For NFC, the Adafruit PN532 shields were used for NTAG wristbands in one version, and in another, Solution's Cubed bm019 were used for ICODE wristbands.
