Recently, I ordered a MCP2221 sample from Microchip to play around with. The first night, I played with it and liked its functionality. Following day, I find it fried along with its three bright buddies.
Since I liked the chip, I put in an order for 1 more as they cost 2.5 in SOIC form and my monthly budget was already threatening to hold my wallet hostage. Seriously though, this chip was the only USB-I2C bridge I could find on Digi-key that weren't either Slave only or Back ordered. Next log will be when it arrives in about two weeks.
