Thanks Matt. I wanted to use the DRC (Design Rules Check) so I had to change the package to fix the overlapping. I ended up finding a vertical TO-220 package of the LM1117T-3.3 regulator at v-reg.LM317TS. Would this work? I got prompted to "Add a technology" with no options. Clicked Ok and the schematic and board look better.
