Description

The images aren't perfect, but enough for taking the strain off your eyes when reading SMD component markings ;)

Image 1: 8-bit color palette on an rgb lcd display.
Image 2: "Build something that matters" card (HaD prize)
Image 3: Tiny resistors & caps on the back of a BeagleBoneBlack.
Image 4: LEDs on an assembled Charles Jr. Yes, I know I'm not great at SMD soldering.
Image 5: some sticker I had laying around.

Components

1 × Cheap laser lens Find these in $1 lasers or old CD drives.
1 × Rubber band The type that you get when you buy asparagus.

Build Instructions

Step 1

Cut a hole about the size of the lens into the rubber band.

Step 2

Place the lens directly over your phone's camera.

Step 3

Put the rubber band over your phone so that the hole is over the lens.

A decent lens like this can do wonders! We used one from a DVD player to count stomata on a leaf and measure their length. Of course it also makes for some awesome macro images of flies, flowers etc :)
