This project represents the design and implementation of a universal open-source embedded systems development kit for laboratory education and engineering training. The kit development aimed at designing a rather universal training board that can cover a range of experiments for teaching embedded systems HW/SW design. A survey of available commercial MCU kits have been done, the main advantages of each kit has been classified and based on this and a set of generic requirements for the new board has been admitted. The kit can utilize 8-bit AVR MCUs. The MCU programming can be done by any GNU based compilers. 47-peripherals have been placed on the board to enrich its universality in addition to 52-I/O expansion for external interfacing. External add-in modules have been designed for targeting extended projects. About 80 different experiments have been developed. A full description including the design source files will be made available as an open-source.
