PKI wrote something up for VGATonic, if you're interested. It's got a number of useful sections if you're looking to build a VGATonic yourself - as well as tips and feature listings.

A lot of the content I've posted, but the consolidation is nice - I've used it a few times already since it has the VT52 escape code table in it, haha.
