Just found this:
It probably means other grey parts open and let other tools come out. I don't see how this can be done with a shell and a hamster movement system. It definitely requires a different propulsion system. Any suggestions?

Moveable weights. the sphere should be fairly evenly balanced with 3 axis weights on tracks that move through the body of the droid as it moves. 6 degrees of freedom means that it should be capable of rolling in any direction (if not at brilliant speeds).

Maybe having two shells, so the ball has stuff in it and then another ball inside that allows the so called hamster style movement.

The problem is I'm going to use magnets to hold the head. The distance between the magnets in the body and the ones in the head should be less then 20 mm, ideally 14-15 mm.
Another problem is the alignment of the inner tools to the shell doors. The same we have in order to achieve escape mode where the head hides in the body.
