Add animated pictures: no hack, just a how-to

A project log for Hack the Hack A Day Editor

A hack based on "HTML Injection". Useful when you want an online editing feature that is not available otherwise. Might work on any Website.

For the project Delta-Sigma versus PWM it was necessary to show how the two waveforms vary with the duty cycle, something like this:

How it was done

Note: Use the Animated GIF format. Do not use Animated PNG. Most of the browsers does not play APNG. After you end editing your HaD log, you may want to open your log with 2-3 different Internet browsers, just to be sure that most of the people will see an animation, not just a static picture.

And here I thought The Gimp was going to be the be-all-end-all of such tools, now we got cloud-computing! Who'da thunk? Thanks for the write-up, this could be quite handy.

Shame on me, but I didn't knew Gimp can do it. So I googled "animated GIF" with the hope for a free application that can do just that. But Google pointed me to different online tools, and that's how I found about online animators.

The result surprised me too, never thought that online picture editing would be a viable option.
