I finally finished the name tag that came with my cat tree.
Also tried to cut some OGEL blocks but poor alignment and lack of homing didnt help. Time for limit switches!
I also ended up trying some 3d stuff, again a super long video, mainly because I was lacking larger endmills.
I ordered some glow powder from Ready Set glow, and some epoxy from Micheals.Sweet, came out nice!

Pacmac needs to be chased by ghosts. THe cnc made short work of these.
I'll leave them out all year. I drilled 4 holes in each and zip tied some dowels to them. Simple and cheap.Run pacman, RUN!

Tried some neck pockets for guitars, just experimenting and learning :)
I didn't have any larger end mills so the video is very long.
After watching Winston Moy flood his cnc with threaded inserts I thought that I wanted to do the same, so I worked on creating a job to do inserts.
Happy with the results I was able to make a trip to home depot and get some materials. With some MDF and threaded inserts I made a board that will overhang the small lip of the Shapeoko frame rails, allowing me the full cutting area as well as many clamping locations.
After a long preorder wait I was finally able to get my machine running and drawing the example.
I had some troubles with sizing. Which required configuration of the microswitches on the carbide motion PCB and some GRBL settings.
This information is documented in the Shapeoko setup.
The DIP switches on the board should be set to:
$100=40.000 (x, step/mm $101=40.000 (y, step/m) $102=40.000 (z, step/mm
Now it's time to test something a little closer to home. Something I hope to laser cut in the future. Gaskets for engines. Mostly moped engines. In this case Tomos A5x Gaskets. It's something I had tried to do on my vinyl plotter, but had problems with thick materials. (Compared to vinyl)
