That's too bad, it looked pretty interesting! If not a model, maybe pictures/a presentation? A couple example logic gate modules?
I think it would be neat to have a meeting where simple computers/adding machines/logic gates are the focus, I definitely have some points I could share on virtualized 4-bit computers inside video games with physics logic gates, as well as the future of biocomputing. There's also a wonderful demonstration on youtube I saw where an adding machine was made from dominos.
Let me know if you're interested and when, this would be a great topic for a maker meeting!
Well, I could show modules yet to be installed, might give you all a grin or two at that :-) Very low tech. The pictures on HaD are about it. And of course if anyone visits the Southport / Oak Island area are welcome to stop by most any time.
Oh yes I would be interested just do not know when as my work days/hours are in constant flux. I guess that I am old school as I began electronics with vacuum tubes and point to point wiring so that reflects in how I am wiring this computer :-)
That would be great! Just let me know whenever you'd like to do it. There's a calendar on the website for the meeting days, so whenever you've got one aligned we can do it. I'll put together a presentation so we can do it at the drop of a hat. It's also possible to organize a special day if Tuesdays don't work for you, although I don't know if I can guarantee the same outcome.
Just wondering if there are any local ( NC/SC ) HackaDay meet and greats / show and tell in the area. Have a great day.
Thanks, Mark
Hey Mark!
We have regular meetings- Tuesdays alternate between Maker meetings and Linux meetings, and the first Friday of every month we host 2600 meetings. We definitely encourage show/tell at these, and they're the best opportunities to meet others. You're also more than welcome to stop by on weekdays, there's always a few of us here (just shoot us a message or hop on IRC to make sure).
You can find our meeting schedule, IRC info, and location on our website- www.subproto.com
Look forward to meeting you!
Thanks Andrea, I would like to meet other hacks in the area but bringing my cardboard computer might prove to be a problem, not exactly portable :-)
