Looking for published analog simulation story

Some while back I read an article, perhaps written by Bob Pease, that described an interesting moment in simulation using an analog computer.  As I recall, the US Navy had a team evaluating a submarine trainer built on an analog computer simulation system.  When the experienced submariners operated the trainer, they reported that it was not accurate in that it behaved better than the actual boat.  When the engineers investigated, they determined that in the model, the control surfaces were attached to sail of the boat (the vertical structure) instead of  the bow, which was the design convention at the time.  As a result, the finding was the basis for the major architectural change in submarine design.
