The DRV8301is a gate driver integrated circuit designed for three-phase motor drive applications. The device includes three half-bridge drivers, each of which can drive two Nchannel MOSFETs. The DRV8301 has a source current capability of up to 1.7 A and a peak current capability of 2.3 A. The DRV8301 can be powered by a single power supply ranging from 6-V to 60-V. To support 100 percent duty cycle, the device employs a bootstrap gate driver architecture with trickle charge circuitry. To prevent current flow, the DRV8301 employs automatic handshaking when the high-side or low-side MOSFET switches. To protect the external power stage from overcurrent conditions, integrated VDS sensing of the high-side and low-side MOSFETs is used.

For accurate current measurement, the DRV8301 includes two current shunt amplifiers. The amplifiers support bidirectional current sensing and have an output offset of up to 3 V that can be adjusted.
