entry level programming job search
bwilson wrote 12/28/2022 at 14:56 • -2 pointsHow do I find a programming job with no professional experience. I have taken multiple programming classes. Most recent was taking a refresher in JAVA. I have a BS in mathematics and an AS in computer science. I am willing to learn any language..

hi ! nice path .. what did you make as personal project ? any startup web app ? smart contract ? machine learning algorithm ? or data science personal project ? I think you need to practice for yourself in personal project, in something you like / you want to achieve
every experiences are a step forward to the success
don't get discouraged

One more thing. Lookout for local meetup groups around your interest. Start attending and get to know people locally, jobs are offered at those groups also. I changed careers in 2020 and that's how I found my first developer job.

try going on a freelance site like upwork. Search for projects that you can do and send proposals, even if they don't pay that much money. The point is to start building a track record. Just remember you only have to convince one person to take a chance on you. then do that again. After a few jobs you'll have legit experience that you could leverage either into more freelance jobs or a full time job. That's what I did, and it worked for me.

Try creating some skill demonstrator projects and publishing them here. What field would you like to work in? Embedded systems (assembler and C), website development (Java etc), business computing (C++) ... Pick projects in that field.
