ESP8266 + USB Host Shield
Dan Williams wrote 02/10/2017 at 10:40 • 1 pointHas anyone used a USB Host Shield intended for an Arduino with an ESP8266? A quick google didn't turn anything up.
I need to control a Canon DSLR over wireless, and was about to use [Host Shield + Arduino + BLE], when I wondered if I could use [Host Shield + ESP8266 + WiFi]... I realise I can do it easily with [Host Shield + Arduino + ESP8266 + WiFi], but that seems overkill...

No, not tried it yet - stuck at a PC not the workbench :/
I assumed the issue would more be the libraries? Again, I've not tried compiling them for ESP8266 yet. I was just surprised that google didn't show anyone else doing it, so I wondered if there was an issue I was overlooking.
Are you sure? yes | no
Have you tried it out in any form? The host shield works over SPI (MAX3421), SPI is supported on the ESP Arduino Lib, so it should work.
