Natural graphite has defects in the form of twinning planes and screw deformations. These are what allow only water to pass and solvated ions to be filtered.

Initial Tests, Success!
03/20/2016 at 06:06 • 0 commentsThe initial testing with Dr. Pepper was successful. The caramel color in soft drinks is difficult to remove as it is thoroughly dissolved and can not be filtered out.
When filtering through graphene however, only water can pass through the individual graphene sheets. This separates the dissolved solids from the water as is shown here in this video.
